Tengi: 2 Week Review – #TengiBloggers

Hello lovely people!

You might remember that I was speaking about Tengi – a new chat app – a couple of weeks ago?

Well, together with a group of nine other bloggers, I’ve been trying out Tengi since the end of April and I’ve put together a few thoughts about the app and its features.

If you’ve not heard of Tengi before, my first post is quite information-rich but in a nutshell, you can chat to your phone contacts (like texting) for free and send images, videos, audio files, your location etc.

The thing that makes Tengi different is that 50% of their advertising revenue is used to hold weekly prize draws with a top prize of £10,000.00 and hundreds of smaller prizes up for grabs as well.

So, what did I think of the app?

Pros

The prize draws are a big plus point and, mainly for this reason, I’ll be keeping the Tengi app on my phone going forwards.

When I heard the word ‘advertising’ in relation to the app, I was expecting pop-ups or banners in the middle of my conversations but thankfully, this isn’t the case. The only adverts I’ve come across are displayed in my list of active conversations so I don’t actually need to click on them or infact take any notice of them unless I’m interested in what they have to say.

If somebody on your contact list joins the app you get 16 tickets for the next prize draw and it’s really easy to do via the app itself. For example, I sent a bulk SMS message to any of my friends and family who I thought might be interested in using the same with just a few clicks. You can also use the app to refer people via Facebook, Twitter, Skype and other networks or by email.

Cons

Although it’s not something I’ve personally experienced, some of the other #TengiBloggers have experienced dramatically decreased battery life through using the app. Luckily, I’ve not noticed any change on my iPhone 6 Plus.

#TengiBloggers Challenges

As part of our review of the Tengi app, we were asked to complete three challenges (1) to tell our best cheesy joke, (2) to share our favourite inspirational quote image and (3) a photo with the title ‘I just woke up like this…’

You can see some of my contributions below and I’ve also picked my favourites from the other #TengiBloggers for you to brighten up your day 🙂

Tengi Bloggers - My Posts

Colette’s {We’re Going On An Adventure} inspirational quote was a firm favourite and I’d be fibbing if I didn’t have a right old giggle at her joke as well.

I loved Donna {What The Redhead Said} and Kaz’s {Ickle Pickle’s Life & Travels} early morning selfies with their little ones and the cheesy joke from Kate {My Family Fever}.

Aby {You Baby Me Mummy} shared a thoughtful image and apparently this was Amy’s {Mr & Mrs T Plus Three} best joke (oh dear!) 😉

The joke from Emma {Life According To Mrs Shilts} tickled my funny bone and Mel {The Diary of a Jewellery Lover} wakes up looking flawless (a very stark contrast to how I look when I drag myself out of bed – think zombie and bird’s nest hair)

Finally, a reminder that you can’t buy happiness from Zena {Zena’s Suitcase}

Are you using Tengi yet?

As before, if you do sign up please pop ‘BLOG’ in the voucher code box so we know that you’ve joined as a result of the #TengiBloggers campaign.

Thanks 🙂

What would you do with the money if you were lucky enough to win the £10,000 top prize?
