Like most guys, the way to my boyfriend’s heart is through his belly. If you say the words ‘all you can eat’ or ‘buffet’ his eyes light up like disco balls and breakfast, well it’s his favourite meal of the day.
We don’t cook full English breakfasts at home really. I always think by the time you’ve bought all of the ingredients and made one heck of mess of the kitchen, you may as well have gone out and let somebody else cook it for you.
We’ve tried most places for breakfast in and around the area but I can safely say, hand on heart, that the buffet-style breakfast at Worsley Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club is the crème de la crème. We visited on Saturday morning and it was a wonderful treat indeed.
A little slice of luxury to set us up for the day, they had everything you could ever wish for at that time of the morning!

As you approach the hotel, it’s clear that it’s in a beautiful setting with gorgeous country-village views and a spacious green golf-course on site alongside lots of trees and a fresh, luxurious feel to the surroundings.
Walking through the plush reception you’ll saunter past a bright, light-filled courtyard (complete with water fountain) on your left as you head for the restaurant at the end of the corridor.
We were greeted immediately by a friendly, professional waitress who escorted us to our table — a contemporary booth with velvet-style shimmering silver couches on either side of the wooden table and lit overhead by an exposed, industrial-style light fitting — and brought us fresh tea and coffee whilst we got Lily seated and happily sipping away at a small glass of fresh juice from the buffet area.
The seating area was very light and airy with lots of windows and our table was very clean and laid with cutlery and thick napkins.
Upon visiting the buffet, everything on offer was well-stocked with no gaps or waiting for items to be replenished and the hot food was steaming and had clearly been freshly cooked.
Throughout our meal, the staff promptly took our empty plates but we didn’t feel rushed as you sometimes can if the staff are over-eager and everybody seemed genuine, happy and welcoming. I had no worries about Lily being with us as the staff (and fellow customers) happily talked and giggled with her and I’d definitely say it’s family-friendly.
It was a busy Saturday morning with only a few spaces left looking around the restaurant but the staff were calm and relaxed.
The only small wait was when Michael ordered his omelette to be cooked from scratch but that’s to be expected. All of the ingredients looked crisp and fresh displayed directly in front of the cooking area and you could stand and watch the chef create your perfect omelette by request.
Michael asked for the signature omelette which was blacksticks blue cheese and Bury black pudding, yum! He said it was absolutely delicious and even I thought it looked and smelled amazing (I hate omelettes with a passion!)
Lily ate for England as usual!
She started with Coco Pops with two spoons, totally standard….
…then we moved on to pastries and fruit (toy not included!)…
…and she finished off with a choccie muffin!
Of course she ate half of my food as well but that’s nothing new, she’s a cheeky monkey!
We thoroughly enjoyed our buffet-style breakfast at the Worsley Park Marriott Hotel. The food was divine, honestly it was beautiful, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly which really made the experience in my opinion.
We’d go back in a heartbeat (and I expect we will sometime soon!) and I’d highly recommend it to anybody looking to treat themselves or their friends/family/loved ones to such a high quality breakfast spread.
