A Day in The Life of a Preschooler with Bassetts Vitamins

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Bassetts Vitamins

Oh, to be three years old.

My work mornings are a rush to get you ready and we’re out of the door by 7.45am. You’ve usually had breakfast before we leave but if you’ve refused, we’ll walk up the path and over the brook to nursery chomping on slices of fruit loaf or a few breakfast biscuits just to make sure you’ve got something in your tummy. They’ll offer you toast and cereals but I worry you’ll be too keen to play. To get stuck in, to explore the riches and relishes of their setting, to start your day.

You won’t let us step foot outside of the house without your daily Bassetts Vitamins Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastille. If I ever forget, I can rely on you to remember. You say they taste like ‘squishy oranges’ and I’m relieved that you’re happy to take them.

We use Bassetts Vitamins, just like I did as a child, and the new Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles contain all the benefits of Bassetts Vitamins’ much-loved multivitamins including Vitamin B6 to support normal psychological function and Vitamin B5 which contributes to mental performance, but with added omega-3*.

Daddy will tell you that I’m a stickler for painstakingly checking the back of boxes and packets before I buy anything for you and with natural flavours and colours, we’re always happy to pop Bassetts Vitamins in our shopping basket. Plus, there’s no added sugar either (which is always a bonus!) and at just £5.50 RRP for a box of 30 pastilles, they’re more than reasonably-priced.

We’d definitely recommend Bassetts Vitamins Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles to any other parents of ‘always-on-the-go’ preschoolers!

At 1pm, I pick you up from nursery and I watch as the light catches the glitter you’ve got on your cheeks or that’s delicately sprinkled in your hair. You don’t know where it’s come from. You do know why you’ve got powder paint all over the skirt of your dress though as you excitedly motion over to your newest creation, pegged up on a makeshift washing line as it gently drys in the corner of the room, ready to take home another day.

The yellow stains on your collar suggest you had curry for lunch and this is confirmed by your nursery teacher as we check in whilst you hurriedly call your friends over for hugs and kisses before we set off to spend the rest of the day together.

We walk home and you spill the beans about all of your preschooler drama. It’s hard to pinpoint what you actually did that morning in terms of activities and instead, I’ll know who you’re best friends with that day and details about all of your conversations.

At home, you’re hungry again. What a surprise! By the time I start making your dinner that evening, we’ll have done enough to wear out the most strong-willed of toddlers but you’re still going, you still have more to do and more to say before the day runs away from you.

Bathtime is a splashy affair and as I mop the floor with a towel I know it’s the only clean it’ll see this week. You have more toys than bubbles around you and I wonder how you don’t end up spiking your squidgy bottom on the limbs of your floating mermaid dolls or the pointy ends of your sea creature figurines.

You’re a whale, a shark, a fish, a seahorse, all within the space of a few moments. Seamlessly changing between them, you’ll play all day until your eyes cannot possibly stay open any longer.

We convince you to settle into bed. One more story, one more kiss, you and I hold hands and I pretend to drift off so that you will do the same. “Sshhh, darling…” I say.

Tomorrow is another day and you need your sleep to do it all over again.
