This is a collaborative post.

There’s something ever so special about this time of year! I’m weirdly over-emotional, thriving on the feelings of excitement and euphoria as people come together with their family and friends, celebrating, laughing, catching up and indulging in their own traditions and rituals.

One of my favourite things is THAT feeling when you finally find the perfect presents and can curl up on the living room floor to wrap them with a box of chocolates, a bottle of wine and a stack of Christmas films. Perfection!

This year, we’ve been super bold and decided to buy and decorate our tree before the beginning of advent (yes, we’re those people but it’s much more common this year I think) and this week the sitting room is being overhauled to make it cosy and comfortable ready for our celebrations.

I’ve got my eye on a few things as finishing touches to give our home that festive glow this year and, if you’re interested, here’s a little mood board for any of you who are stuck for inspiration!

Cosy Christmas Mood BoardFabric Sofa // Stag Bauble // Snowy Christmas Tree // ‘Christmas Eve’ Yankee Candle

Mosaic Baubles // Wine Glasses

We usually go for a really traditional feel with the interiors and decorations but this year we’ve decided to change things up with a more contemporary approach.

I really like this gorgeous sofa. The silvery grey is beautiful and the velveteen look is super stylish. The baubles I’ve featured are similar to the ones we bought last week — very colourful and on trend. We’ve got a real potted tree but I’ve always liked the artificial trees with the soft, snowy effect (because it’s probably all the snow we’ll actually see — as usual!)

Have you got your Christmas tree and decorations up yet?

What style have you gone for this year?
