I’ve decided to keep an informal record of what we’ve been up to every week and my ‘little loves’ so I’ll try and get a post like this up on a Friday — regardless of whether it’s just a few sentences or if I’ve got more to share with you!
And so here we go…
I’ve had a really busy week and whilst I’ve not picked up a book, I’ve read a couple of fabulous articles including…
(1) Was I ever a good mummy? by Hannah at Budding Smiles
(2) Shattered mum comes up with genius baby sleep guide — and it’s totally achievable! by Emily-Jane Clark
We’re just 2 episodes in to the second series of Stranger Things (no spoilers please!) and, as expected, I’m completely addicted — again!
We also watched the entire drop of End of the F***ing World this week which was definitely my cup of tea — I love that sort of thing! — but when the hell was it set? Obviously, I think it was supposed to be modern day because they all had iPhones but jeez, everything else on the show was giving off some serious 1990’s vibes!
Lastly, Mike and I went to watch Jigsaw on Sunday just before Halloween and whilst it was OK, I really think it could’ve been much better! They’ve clearly tried to squeeze more money out of a series that didn’t need reviving — there were tons of plot holes and the games were pretty predictable! Oh well, at least we know now!
Lily and I are making cupcakes today which are going to be slathered in unicorn icing and topped with Katy Perry cake toppers for my sister-in-law’s birthday tomorrow.
We also spent some time this morning making some cards covered in ALL the sequins and we’re going to make a bonfire picture later on, we just need to pick up some sticks later when we go to ASDA to buy the piping nozzle I need (when Lily wakes up, I can’t believe she’s actually napping during the day!)
I’m currently wearing in a gorgeous pair of cherry red Dr. Marten’s (and if you’ve had DM’s before, you’ll know how painful that can be but it’s definitely worth the swollen feet you’re left with for a few days!)
I’m very lucky to have them to review from JD Williams and they’re my new favourites!
I was sat at the kitchen table on Wednesday doing some work whilst Lily was at nursery and decided to listen to Misplaced Childhood by Marillion for the first times in ages. I’d forgotten just how much I love the entire album!
There’s a Download Festival announcement next week so I’m looking forward to buying our tickets and getting ready for next year (despite it being 8 months way, I’m allowed to get excited now though right?)
What have you been up to this week?
