Preparing Your Living Space for Autumn ft. Partylite Candles

Preparing Your Living Space For Autumn ft Partylite Candles

Did you know that it was the Autumnal Equinox yesterday? Yes, that’s right, summer is officially over for another year and we’re back to the season of comfy jumpers, hot chocolate*, crisp air and flushed cheeks. Quite frankly, I’m relieved. Summer drove me insane with its on/off attitude to hot weather and I prefer autumn/winter anyway!

Jumper

The only thing I’ll really miss is the chance to take Lily to play outside in the sunshine but I am excited to show her this new season, her first autumn. We’ll watch the leaves turn and fall from the trees before kicking our feet gleefully through the roughage on the pavement, we’ll find conkers to keep and sycamore helicopters to throw into the air.

When the snow comes in the winter, it will be something completely new for her. I can see her making angel shapes and clapping the snow between her mittens, it’s going to be magical.

Autumn Tree

Now that we’ll be spending more time indoors with the change in weather and temperature, I’ve started to pay more attention to our living space and getting everything nice and cosy for the next few months.

There’s a ton of new interiors that I’d like to jazz the place up with and most of them are from George at ASDA. I recently picked up one of their A/W catalogues and I could easily buy every item. My favourite is a trio of copper triply pans and I’m going to try and sell our Le Cruset set on Facebook or eBay to offset some or all of the cost of the new ones.

I’m thinking knitted blankets, cute cushions and matching decorative items to makeover our living space this year. It’s where we’ll be spending most of our ‘family time’ so it’s important for us to be relaxed and cosy.

The one thing that I can’t get from George this year, however, is decent candles, an essential when creating a calming, homely atmosphere in your living space. My home HAS to smell wonderful or I just can’t relax properly. I love sitting down at the end of a long day, taking a deep breath and savouring the beautiful scent of a warming home. I adore watching the flame flicker gently, so natural and serene, just what I need after a day running around behind my little wriggly worm.

I go mad in the autumn most years, hoarding candles as if we’re about to run out, is it possible to be addicted to candles? I think I might be…

Partylite Candles

As you can imagine, I was over the moon when Partylite UK got in touch a few weeks ago to say they were sending over some of their new candles to review. Ooft, new candles, what more could a girl ask for? When the parcel arrived (incredibly well-packaged, I might add) I was excited to see that I’d been sent three items to try – the Escential Jar, Nature’s Light Wooden Wick Candle in Mulberry and the Market Fresh Trio.

Escential Jar, Nature's Light Wooden Wick Candle and Market Fresh Trio

The scent of the candles hit me as soon as I opened the box and was incredibly moreish, what a brilliant start! As you can see from the photographs below, the candles are gorgeous, fitting well in to the decor of any home, with the collection I received showcasing some beautiful autumnal colours.

Escential Jar Scented Candle (40-60 hrs) – £11.75

This had the strongest fragrance of the products I received. It was divine! It boasts a flared opening which releases more of the scent in to the air and a unique tapered design which allows for the cleanest burn to limit any wasted wax.  A bargain, I think, for just under £12.00.

Nature’s Light Scented Jar Candle (Wooden Wick) – £20.75

Whilst I enjoyed all of the candles, my favourite, by far, was the Nature’s Light Candle with the wooden wick. It felt luxurious to use, I liked how the wood brought a natural element to the candle and the glow was wonderful.

Market Fresh Scented Mini Jar Candle Trio – £24.95

(Caramel Pear / Berry Bramble / Harvest Spice)

The scents of these candles are absolutely delicious and they’re well-sized too. The rich colours and sweet smells really bring the outside in and sets the mood for a cosy afternoon at home.

You can purchase these candles together with many, many more via the Partylite UK website. All products are sold via a Partylite Consultant and by simply entering your postcode where instructed, you will be directed to your local Consultant’s online shop and provided with their details should you wish to contact them for further information. You will also see a list of upcoming events (i.e. parties) which may be of interest to you.

I would highly recommend viewing Partylite’s Autumn/Winter/Christmas catalogue (available on their website) as it’s packed full of great value candles and accessories to suit any budget and any colour scheme/decor.

The Christmas range is particularly lovely with festive twig centerpieces, snowman and reindeer tealight holders, ski resort fragrances, nutcracker candle holders and nordic-inspired designs. There’s also a fabulous pink and purple ‘Just Desserts’ collection with scents such as ‘sugarplum fairies’ and ‘nutcracker sweet’. They look fantastic!

I will definitely be picking my favourites to buy as gifts for friends and family members.
