The fun side of parenting with Pudding & Chops

Hello honeybuns,

How are we all today?

Have you seen those baby milestone cards? ‘I am X months old today’, ‘Today I smiled for the first time’, ‘Today I got my first tooth’.

I didn’t know anything about them until Lily had ticked off most of the ‘first year’ milestones so whilst I adored them, I couldn’t really use them.

Then I saw these babies from Pudding & Chops on social media which were perfect for us. The alternative side of parenting, a far cry from the usual milestones and a more ‘honest’ and humorous take on the day-to-day life of babies/toddlers and motherhood.

Pudding & Chops Milestone Cards

Pudding & Chops Milestone Cards

I just love them. They’re so much fun, the monochrome print is super stylish and, let’s face it, parenting should never really be boring should it? 😉

I love the step away from perfection that the two lovely ladies who design and sell the cards have created. You can read all about their start-up story here and it’s so sweet that P & C is named after their two children. Such a cute name for a brand isn’t it?

Anyway, I don’t want to spoil the surprise but here’s some of the cards we’ve been lucky enough (if you can call it that) to use so far and you can follow us on Instagram if you’d like to keep up to date with them.

Pudding & Chops Alternative Milestone Cards

If you want to get your mitts on some Pudding & Chops milestone cards of your own you can order your own here for just £9.95 with £1.50 for standard delivery.

There are 20 cards in the pack and they are printed to a high quality on 350gsm silk card (lovely shiny finish).

I would have liked for the cards to be in a cardboard pack so I could carry them around with me ready for those classic parenting moments rather than shrink wrapped so perhaps that’s a suggestion for the brand.

These are really cute! I had to laugh at the Poonami – I think we could have used that one 1000’s of times!

They are fabulous, I love these so much more than the usual ones you see on social media, they have injected a real sense of reality and humour in the quotes:)

Ohhh, I love these! The crying all day one.. HAHA. These are the perfect photography prop. 20 cards for under £10 is not bad at all! 🙂

I read a post recently about toddlers and how they cry and I felt SO bad for using that card. I know we all laugh about it and sometimes it does seem silly but I guess for them, it’s actually a big deal 🙁
I think it’s fabulous value for money and they are great to make memories with X X

Oh wow how awesome are these cards! Such a good idea. I’ve seen a baby book for first explsove poop etc but not the cards yet – brilliant xx

They’re cool aren’t they? A nice refresh on the original version I think X X

Haha, love this! I also knew nothing about the milestone cards until after my kids were past them all, but my friend has used them since the birth of her baby, she would love these!! 🙂

    • June 1, 2016 / 9:51 PM

I think they’re quite new aren’t they? Now that we all have cameras on our phones and we take photos constantly they’ve become much more popular! X X

Ha! These are a great idea. Especially the Poonami and ‘rolled off the bed’ ones – though I’d feel pretty bad snapping a pic of the little one as she was bawling her eyes out on the floor. (I suppose you take the pic after they’ve calmed down and you know she won’t need to be rushed to A&E. Always learning, me…)

    • June 1, 2016 / 9:44 PM

Umm..yes haha, that might be a good idea 🙂
“Oh god, get the car quickly we’re off to Hospital again”, “Wait, I’m just taking a selfie…” =/
I’m hoping not to have to use the ‘rolled off the bed’ card (been there, done that) but the poonami one could probably be used a few times a week to be fair! X X

They’re fab, we’ve loved using them and giggling at the funnier side of parenthood! X X

Awww I love milestone cards, there needs to be some for toddlers though aged 2+

    • May 29, 2016 / 5:35 PM

I agree! It’d be nice to have some for all ages to cover their entire childhood wouldn’t it? ‘I just went to my first party’. ‘I started high school today’ X X

Lol the one about doing a poonani made me laugh and I liked the one next to the tea!
