It’s been a busy couple of weeks!

At the beginning of the month we Amazon Prime-d the latest System of a Down album (that I could’ve sworn we already had but after hauling all of our CDs out of the welsh dresser it was nowhere to be found), blew kisses to Lily and my Mum who kindly offered to look after her for a couple of days and bombed it down the motorway to my Dad’s to get ready for his wedding the next day.

The 9 o’clock service was beautiful and immediately followed by a gorgeous cooked breakfast and an all-day drinking session in Beverley. I haven’t been THAT drunk in a very long time. You know when you can’t catch your vision and everything goes wishy-washy? I must’ve tried every drink on the menu from shorts, bombs and cocktails to champagne, prosecco and cider — I’ve got a feeling that I made a little bit of a fool of myself but I was surrounded by other equally intoxicated wedding guests so hopefully nobody will remember! I remember my Grandad saying ‘You’re blotto!’ which is just so incredibly English isn’t it? Surprisingly I didn’t throw up either, vomit free since….2016, probably.

The evidence on my phone is nothing short of cringeworthy. Photos taken throughout the day going from bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to eyes half-closed, clearly swaying, clearly pissed. The videos of my midnight singing with a busker top it all off together with the shots of my legs where I’ve sat down on the cold, rained-on pavement to eat takeaway food that I have absolutely no recollection of Mike buying for us. Honestly, if it wasn’t for him I don’t know how I’d of gotten home!

We came home at the weekend before heading off again on the Monday, with Mum and Lily in tow this time, to Prestatyn in Wales for 4 nights/5 days at a holiday park. We had a wonderful week, despite the constant downpours, and topped it off on Friday with a trip to the sunny seaside bay of Llandudno before the 2-hour drive back home. It was really lovely and just what we all needed!

I’m glad to be home again and looking forward to a few more days with Mike before he goes back to work at the end of the week. We’re off to the cinema tomorrow evening to see Wonder Woman which is a real treat as there’s so many films we’ve wanted to see this year (Mike’s a bit of a film buff) but that we’ve ended up missing as we’ve been so bloody busy!

On Tuesday we’re off to Blackpool (praying for a spot of good weather) and then we’ve got Wednesday and Thursday together all three of us as well before Mike goes back on Friday. No solid plans yet but I think it’s nice not to have things set in stone sometimes?

The only downside to having so much fun is that it creates mountains of washing that we’re currently trudging through. The weather today has been so on and off that I haven’t wanted to risk putting anything on the washing line so it looks like a launderette in here with things hanging here, there and everywhere whilst we wait for it all to dry!

Lily’s also a bit snotty today and had a mammoth 3-hour nap which is unheard of so I’m hoping it’s just a blip and she isn’t coming down with anything icky. It always seems to be that we all end up poorly when Mike has time off — typical isn’t it?

I didn’t want to lug my camera around and I hardly even took my phone out whilst we away so I’m quite short on photos but I love this shot of Lily on the beach at Rhyl. Aren’t her curls getting long all of a sudden?
